Approximately 1:03. Chinese dialogue with embedded Chinese subtitles and original sound. This is a 720p copy of the assembled subtitled film; no English subtitles have been added.

One person packs a box. The other asks when his next job begins. A few questions unravel the explanation for leaving, and the exchange eventually returns to a staff badge.

The film retains its original production number, EP04, while appearing second in this selected archive series. The trial concerns two people sustaining tension through speaking and listening rather than spectacle.

Three passages, shared space and identity

The final film runs approximately 63.2 seconds, assembled from passages of roughly 13, 27, and 23 seconds. All three used Seedance 2.5 multi-reference audio-video generation at 1080p. The owner manually assembled the final film.

The final route supplied no hard first frame. It shared one office-space reference, face and full-body anchors for each character, and a separate short voice reference for each speaker. Seven inputs had distinct responsibilities: layout, facial identity, body and clothing, and vocal timbre.

Separating those jobs reduces competition between references without automatically establishing continuity. Each passage is independently generated; room orientation, sightlines, character state, and tone still need comparison across the cuts.

Specify objects and silence

The staff badge was once interpreted as a freestanding desk sign. Correcting it required shape, material, scale, and handling rather than repetition of its name. A hand carrying something also cannot open a door at the same instant.

The listener is another easily missed subject. If a background character freezes while the lead speaks, a detailed frame can resemble a photograph waiting for its turn. Stopping, looking up, releasing the box, and hesitating need to be checked against the preceding line. Breathing and blinking matter too.

What the dialogue demonstrates

The film shows questions, answers, and reactions arranged within a generation, while exposing risks in space and state across segments. An answer that works after editing does not establish that its generation inherited the previous segment’s actual state.

This page preserves the subtitled version’s picture, dialogue, and editing. The next trial adds more characters, languages, and settings: Before Nine.
